Jaya’s Transformation Journey

What is your name, age and profession?

Jaya: My name is Jayshree, I am a 63 years old housewife from India, and I am a grandmother in Singapore.

Ravi: My name is Ravi, I am 43 years old, and I work in the investment sector.

What made you sign up for the TSquared Lab Program?

Ravi: We were on a trip together to Bhutan, and during that trip, I realised that my mom might lose her mobility in the next 5 years, so we have to do something about it, and that is when I decided to sign her up for the TSquared Lab program.

Jaya: I had a high altitude sickness problem, so when I tried to climb uphill, it used to get to me, and my son was not happy with it at all, so he convinced me to join this program.

Was it easy for you to commence this program?

Initially, I was not receptive to the idea of joining this program because I have been disciplined with my workouts for more than 25 years now, but I had not seen much results, so I wasn’t sure if this program would help me achieve my goal.

What were the main challenges you faced before joining TSquared Lab?

Before I joined the program, I was definitely overweight, I had some knee problems, and I also have tendonitis from the last 2 years, which was making things difficult for me during my workouts. I had to ensure that whatever I was doing had a low impact on my joints.

How much weight and body fat have you lost since you joined TSquared Lab?

I never weighed myself before starting this program because I was not able to see any difference, but after I joined this program and I could see the changes in my body, my trainer pushed me to go up the weighing scale, and it became a motivator for me to check my weight, and from that, I have lost about 16 kg of weight and 12% body fat till today.

Ravi, how do you feel about your mom’s journey so far?

I know we have all played a role in her journey. I signed her up for this program, and the entire team at TSquared Lab supported her and guided her well, but the main credit should go to her as she showed up day after day and beyond the fitness results that she has gotten. I feel now she knows that she can manage and control her own fitness, and that has also increased her own confidence.

What is your proudest achievement so far?

I feel my proudest achievement is losing weight and gaining confidence.

How are the workouts at TSquared Lab?

The workouts were very good. When I saw TSquared Lab for the first time, I felt fortunate enough to be able to workout here, so I decided to give it my best shot. They assessed my fitness first, and then the workouts were tailored as per my requirements. Not one day did I end up with an injury here.

What would you tell someone who is unsure about joining TSquared Lab?

Jaya: My journey was extremely good, and I am sure others will have it too.

Ravi: I feel fitness is more like an investment; everyone has to make it in their own way. Working with a professional in a professional environment like TSquared Lab helps overcome setbacks and injuries.

Any final words for your coach?

Ravi: Thank you so much, Migie, for helping my mother on her journey. Now she is going back to India, but she will stay active there, and when she makes her trip back to Singapore, you can definitely train her again. Having said that, I am going to continue to train under you, as we have a lot of goals to achieve.

Jaya: I was very lucky to get trained under one of the best in the industry, and I am going to do full justice and try to manage the pace and tempo with which I was training with Migie here after I go back to India.

What do you have to say about your coach, Migie?

Jaya: When I talk about Migie, I would say he is more than my personal training coach; actually, he is my life coach because, along with my training, he also gives me a lot of tips about how to be more confident about myself and not worry about my weight. He is always motivating and inspirational.

Ravi: Since the time I did my first assessment workout, I knew Migie was the one trainer with whom I would want to train. I have been active for the last 15 years, and I keep changing my exercises and training programs, but for the last 4-5 months, I have been training under Migie, and he has also helped me resolve my back injury that I had last year. Not only with the weights in the gym, I can also pick up suitcases while travelling without any injuries, and that is the reason that I went out of my way to ensure that my mom also trains under him.

Any words for TSquared Lab and the people here?

Jaya: It is really a good place, especially as I came from India. TSquared Lab really gave me a homely atmosphere. Not only Migie, but even Afshan, made a big difference in my life. Whenever she had time, we would chat, and even the other trainers who were not working out with me also motivated me throughout.

Ravi: I have been working out before, like I already mentioned, but I had developed a phobia of picking up weights. I almost thought I did not have the need to lift weights, but as I entered 40, I realised that I needed to get back to it to improve muscle tone, and this has really brought me there along the journey. Also, I feel the culture of the TSquared Lab is more about you, like your goals and your progress.
