What is your name, age and profession?

My name is Karishma, I am 38 years old. I work in Human Resources.

How long have you been training with TSquared Lab and how much body weight have you lost?

I have been training online with TSquared Lab for about 6 months now and I have lost 10 kgs of body weight.

How did you find out about online training and what made you join it?

I have been tracking Coach Afshan’s page online on Instagram and LinkedIn for a while and I was at that point where I wanted to get my journey to fitness started and I just signed up on a whim one day because I was overweight.

How did you feel about being overweight?

I was extremely uncomfortable. I was not happy where I was, my clothes were like literally sinking into my body but I was also feeling very lethargic and not confident, not happy about myself and I was making excuses to take the first step. So, I wasn’t very happy.

What were the main challenges in losing weight and getting fit?

I think the lack of guidance I guess because I tried a lot of diets and I tried starting to exercise and lack of consistency in continuing exercise was my biggest challenge. I would start something, do it for about two weeks, stop and get back to my original weight again you know I was vacillating a lot, so I think that was the biggest challenge, not having proper guidance to what I was doing.

What about diet and exercising?

The same, I think, is the lack of coordination between my diet and my exercise. So, just trying diet at one point in time and then trying to crash exercise at one point in time but not being able to keep both in synk, I think was a challenge.

Did you face problems with guidance and your consistency?

Yes, I faced problems with my guidance and consistency.

How was it training online virtually with Afshan?

I was initially a little apprehensive of how online training was going to work, but I said let’s give it a try. I didn’t have any equipment with me so my Coach and I started off training with rice bags as weights. After about a couple of months into the training I got about two sets of weights about 2 kgs and 5 kgs and then about a couple of months ago I got 8 and 10 kgs of weights. So, we kind of gradually went through the journey. So, I think it turned out to be really really good.

Where are you from and how was your experience with online training?

I live in Sydney so training in person was not possible that's how we opted for online. Despite the lack of equipment, Afshan really guided me through what was available, for example a bag of rice is what we used as weights to start off with and our journey and rest is history I guess.

What do you think is the biggest change you have made to your lifestyle with this online training?

I think my eating habits are the biggest one and consistency of training, discipline are the biggest changes to my lifestyle right now in terms of where I started off.

What changes are you making and what are you avoiding nowadays?

The biggest change is that I am eating healthy, like I am not really avoiding eating anything. I am just eating clean and I am eating balanced and I am not overdoing anything be it alcohol or food.

What have you changed about your eating habits?

I am paying more attention to what I eat. I am not avoiding any food which is good but I am eating more mindfully and eating clean. Afshan helped me with a lot of healthier replacements that has helped me manage my diet.

In these 6 months of online training how soon do you notice changes in your body?

It took us about 4 weeks to start to see a drop and in 2 months I did see a significant change.

What changes did you see in your body?

The biggest one is obviously I am leaner than when I started off but I also see a change in my energy and my confidence in the way I show up.

What have your friends and family said about this transformation?

They do notice it. I walk into the room and everyone’s like what happened to you. You look different, you have lost weight, you look fitter. So, yeah it feels awesome.

Would you recommend TSquared Lab to your friends and family?

I would recommend TSquared Lab to my friends and family. Purely because the people at TSquared Lab are very very committed and they 100% know what they are doing. So, they know the science of it and the execution of it.

What’s next for you in terms of health and fitness?

I have gained muscles so far but I want to gain more.

KEY TO KARISHMA’S SUCCESS

1. Karishma educated herself:

Karishma’s biggest barrier to transformation was that she tried out several diets and training programs, but her consistency was lacking. And this lack of consistency was due to lack of knowledge about health and nutrition. After coming to TSquared Lab, she was educated on the importance of training and nutrition and how they need to work hand in hand to see transformation happen.

2. Karishma was consistent:

One of the main challenges Karishma faced before joining TSquared Lab was being consistent in the program she joined. Due to which, in spite of working out periodically, she couldn’t witness the transformation she desired. After joining TSquared Lab, she learnt about consistency being the key to transformation. Motivation from her Personal Trainer as well as the flexibility of the customised training program which allowed her to eat everything in proportion, kept her hooked to the program. With consistency, changes in her body were evidently visible.

3. Karishma had support from her Personal Trainer:

One the best qualities of the Personal Trainers at TSquared Lab is they make clients’ goals their own and invest themselves in achieving the goals. Afshan was no different. Knowing how Karishma felt about her weight and shredding confidence with the increasing weight, made her come up with innovative ways of training. To quote a classic example, Karishma was training online with Afshan, and she didn’t have weights to train. Afshan recommended rice bags as a substitute for weights. This just displays that nothing can stop TSquared Lab trainers from training you. Karishma succeeded in striking a fine balance between food and training with Afshan’s guidance and knowledge.

4. Karishma made a conscious effort to align her food habits and training:

Training and adapting to clean eating habits can be extremely challenging and for Karishma that was the challenge since the beginning. However, she was determined and motivated enough for her to build a bridge between nutrition and training. A strategic training program and nutrition was her road map to total transformation. Adhering to the plan 100% was the effort she put and transformed successfully.

5. Karishma trusted on the TSquared Lab online program:

At the start Karishma was sceptical about the online training, which is not uncommon. You may not get the correct form or posture in online training, because the trainer is not with you in person. However, Karishma decided to trust the program, which changed her world 360 degrees. Afshan’s focus was no injury due to training which led to a result focused program which consisted of correct postures, appropriate nutrition and combination of exercises.
