My name is Ryan, I am 21 years old and I am currently a student at the Buffalo University at SIM.

What made you sign up to the TSquared Lab Program?

I wasn't working out, and my mom convinced me to join this program. I thought there is no harm in trying so I decided to sign up to the TSquared Lab Program.

What were the main challenges you faced before joining TSquared Lab?

I wasn't working out for a long time before starting this program and being a student athlete before it was tough to start from the bottom again. Maybe if 100kg leg press was easy for me before, now I could only do 40kgs so restarting from scratch was the main challenge for me.

Did you have any health issues before starting this program?

Before joining the TSqaured Lab I was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2019 and after I recovered I thought I should start working out but throughout the journey I also developed a bone issue on both my hips which degraded the bones there and it became difficult for me to do high intensity workouts. TSquared Lab helped me regain confidence through their physiotherapy sessions and there is Dimi here, my personal coach who is guiding me throughout my journey and I am also playing sports outside now.

After training with Dimi what difference have you felt in your health?

After my recovery from Leukemia, the training at TSquared Lab added more quality to my life as before leukemia sports use to be a big part of my life and getting back to it really made me very happy and integrating exercises in my daily routine really made me feel more energetic, more focused throughout the day, I like working out at the gym and with Dimi I think my biggest accomplishment was when I did my first check, because I was bulking then I went up by 6-7 kgs but however my fat percentage did go down and I celebrated this with Dimi.

What changes did the treatment of Leukemia do to your body?

Before getting diagnosed for Leukemia, I was always into sports. I use to play basketball, rugby and I was really demoralised as competition season was coming up and I was going to be a part of my school team when I got diagnosed with this issue and the whole process of recovery made me more lethargic and unmotivated and it really degraded my quality of life even a 200m jog was difficult but I held on to hope and wanted to come back to some form of exercises and believe that I have managed to recover to some extent and I am able to play some recreational sports outside.

How long have you been training with Dimi?

Currently I have been training with him for 4 months and it has been great. I have to make some changes in my lifestyle due to my health issues but I think Dimi has brought a lot more to my life. I can go to the gym independently, do the workouts and I am more confident in the way I carry myself.

What changes have you seen in your body with the strength training program?

Since I have been training with Dimi, I have seen changes in my physique. I am healthier now. I have gained 7kg body weight along and in fact I have lost some body fat so I am more confident now. My posture has improved and it has definitely helped in my daily activities, I feel stronger and energetic throughout the day.

Tell us something about your coach?

He always pushes me. When I first met him he was super chill, easy to talk to and that is what I like about him. He and I both have some things in common like our love for sneakers or our education backgrounds in finance and business so we have some common talking points. With respect to training, he is my motivator. He pushes me to workout and I can see the difference in myself with each session so I absolutely appreciate that.

Any words for TSquared Lab?

I was a little reluctant before joining this program but now after my training I can say that I have absolutely no regrets, the training program has really helped me train my muscles, the community here is great, my coach Dimi and all the trainers have been nice to me everyone is friendly and I really enjoyed my time here.

What would you advice someone who is reluctant to join TSquared Lab?

Come here, take the consultation the trainers will guide you, everyone here is ready to help.Taking the first step is really important because for me, I feel had I not come here I would not have been able to stick to a plan and my trainer here has really helped me inculcate discipline in my routine.

How did you feel about the changes in your diet?

I can eat anything so that was not a problem but to bulk up, Dimi gave me a plan to consume 2500 calories a day so that was difficult because I was not use to it and I felt full all the time but similarly when it was time to cut down on calories I felt hungry all the time so that was challenging for me.

Any final words for your coach?

I really appreciate you Dimi and all the help that you have given in these 4 months. Although I know the time was short, I was at the rock bottom and you helped me reach where I am today, so the skills that you have imparted to me I will carry with me for a long time and you will be a very big part of my memory throughout my life.

1. Ryan had a clear goal:

Before starting the training program, Ryan was clear about his fitness goal and the results that he wanted to achieve. He was not able to workout for a long period of time due to his health so he really wanted to do something to get moving and feel stronger physically.

2. Ryan trusted his trainer’s process:

Ryan always considered his coach as a friend, and he trusted his coach with the training process. Dimi helped him with how to do exercises the right way,made him feel safe and at the same time gave him the confidence to do the exercise on his own.

3. Ryan was enjoying the change:

Ryan wanted to gain weight, along with gaining strength to be able to play sports and do some physical activities like he use to do before getting diagnosed with Leukemia and getting back to it really made him very happy and integrating exercises in his daily routine made him me feel more energetic, more focused throughout the day.
