Scaling New Heights: Sherria's Strength and Climbing Journey with TSquared Lab

I joined TSquared Lab to gain more strength and be able to get better at climbing, and my coach, Afshan, has helped me achieve my goal.

Sherria’s Transformation Journey

What is your name, age and profession?

Hi, my name is Sherria Ayuandini, and I am 42 years old. I am currently working as the Director, Evaluation Strategy, and Implementation.

What made you sign up for the TSquared Lab Program?

I have always been slim; I didn't really want to lose weight, but I do want to do better at certain things I love, like rock climbing, but I have always felt stuck at a low level, so I wanted to join TSquared Lab to be able to gain more strength to be able to do better at rock climbing.

What were some of the main challenges that you faced related to health and fitness before joining the TSquared Lab?

I felt that when I did things on my own, I did them the wrong way, which led to certain injuries. In order to recover from those injuries and get the right training to gain strength, I joined the TSquared Lab.

What changes have you seen since you have joined TSquared Lab?

Since I have been training with Afshan, I have noticed that I have grown significantly stronger, from normal routine tasks like carrying groceries to going to an upper level in rock climbing. I have felt lighter, and I am able to carry my body weight in a more confident manner.

What is your proudest achievement here at TSquared Lab?

When I first started training, I told my coach Afshan that if I was able to do 1 chin up, I would be really happy, and with her training and guidance, I have been able to do 5 chin ups in a row. This is really helpful for my climbing as well, so it is my proudest achievement to date.

How did you recover from your injury?

I had a shoulder injury because, while rock climbing, I was only using my shoulder muscles, and because I overused my shoulder muscles, I injured my right shoulder. Now, after a few months of training with Afshan and doing some physiotherapy, I have been able to use other muscles as well, and I am now able to climb up safely and confidently.

What is it like to work out at TSquared Lab?

I really like working out at TSquared Lab, and I try to move out of my comfort zone when Afshan is around because I know that if I go wrong somewhere, she is there to help and guide me.

How would you describe the program that your coach has designed for you?

It's very helpful with what I want to achieve, which is to get better at climbing. Afshan understood my goal and designed a set of exercises. I might not know the reason behind the exercise, but she explains it to me in detail, and I am able to work on the right muscle in the right way. I also understand the difference in climbing after my training.

What were the changes that you noticed in your lifestyle? Is it simple to follow, and is it worth it?

Making changes in your lifestyle is totally worth it; it has now become a habit, and once it becomes a habit, it’s a lot easier. I have even changed my diet, so I feel your diet and your exercise go hand in hand for better results.

How long was it before you could see changes in your body after joining TSquared Lab?

In the first few months with Afshan, we went through rehab to be able to recover from my shoulder injury, and I am glad that Afshan did not rush, and we gave the injury some time to heal. Once I felt better, we started doing strength training, and within 3 months, I was able to see changes in the way that I am able to do things in a better way than I was before.

What would you tell someone who is unsure about joining TSquared Lab?

For someone who is unsure about joining TSquared Lab, I would just say that it's one step at a time. Working out at TSquared Lab makes me feel motivated, and I am also able to get the right guidance and training from the professionals here throughout my fitness journey.

1. Sherria had a clear goal:

Sherria was sure about her goal; she wanted to recover from her shoulder injury and be able to gain more strength to be able to get better at climbing.

2. Sherria was flexible towards her training program:

With the noticeable changes in Sherria’s recovery from her shoulder injury, it was necessary to make changes and move towards the strength training program so that she can use all her muscles well. Sherria adapted well to all the changes her coach made in her training program.

3. Sherria trusted her trainer’s process:

Being able to do chin ups and lift her body up while climbing up the rocks like never before depend her trust in Afshan and the personal training journey. She knew that she had made the right choice, and Afshan’s advice would help her achieve her goal most effectively and efficiently.

4. Sherria was enjoying the change:

Sherria wanted to recover from her shoulder injury and also improve her strength to be able to do bouldering in a better way. Through the rehab and strength training program, when she could see visible changes in her strength by doing 5 chin ups in a row and was able to go at a higher level while doing rock climbing, she was enjoying the changes in her body. Along with that, she felt more confident day by day. She liked the positive changes and wanted to continue feeling the same, making exercise a habit and a part of her lifestyle.
