Jonathan had been experiencing wrist pain for about two years. "I thought it was just from my workouts," Jonathan explained, assuming the issue was related to his gym routine. However, it wasn’t until later that he realised the true cause. "It wasn’t the gym, it was the baby," he said, recalling how he would carry his newborn in ways that stressed his wrist. At first, he didn’t understand what was causing the pain, but after noticing his discomfort while holding his baby, Jonathan finally sought help at TSquared Physio.
Jonathan’s physiotherapist, Nadzri, had been working with him for general recovery from other workout-related strains. However, when Jonathan came to him with this new issue, Nadzri quickly identified the root cause. "After assessing Jonathan’s movement patterns and posture, it became clear that it wasn’t a gym injury but a problem related to how he was holding his baby," Nadzri noted. Jonathan added, "It was something I had never thought about, but once Nadzri pointed it out, I realised I was holding my baby in a way that was just killing my wrist."
Nadzri recommended Jonathan make adjustments to how he carried his baby. "I suggested he try different positions, focusing on how to hold the baby with less strain on his wrist.” In addition to posture adjustments, Jonathan was advised to do strengthening exercises for his wrist and forearms. "I started doing simple dumbbell exercises at home to build strength," Jonathan explained. "At first, I thought it would take forever to feel any difference, but I stuck with it."

Jonathan’s pain was significantly reduced by simply adjusting how he held his baby, demonstrating how posture affects body mechanics.
Nadzri’s constant support, regular physiotherapy, and targeted exercises helped in Jonathan’s recovery, and progress over time.

I do see the benefits of coming to see Nadz. The sharp pain is gone, and I can carry my baby again without that constant fear of hurting my wrist.”

The recovery wasn’t visible instantly, and Jonathan still felt some discomfort early on. "I’d feel sharp pain and stiffness when doing simple tasks like carrying groceries," Jonathan said, reflecting on his frustration. However, with regular sessions and exercises, the pain began to subside. Nadzri noted, "His wrist strength gradually improved, and the stiffness became less of an issue." Jonathan agreed, saying, "It didn’t happen overnight, but the pain was definitely getting better. I started to feel stronger, and the wrist wasn’t as stiff."
After two months of consistent therapy, Jonathan’s wrist pain had drastically improved. "The sharp pain is gone, and I can carry my baby again without that constant fear of hurting my wrist," Jonathan said, now confident in his recovery. Nadzri emphasised the importance of maintaining good posture to prevent future injury, advising Jonathan to continue with light stretches and exercises. "Now, I’m much more mindful of how I carry the baby," Jonathan reflected. "I’ve learned to take care of my body better, especially my wrist."
