“With the change in diet, I think within a month I saw the changes. Also, with the higher fluid intake daily, it helps.”
Within 4.5 months of training with CX, he helped me get my shoulder working again.”
Luan joined the program to explore the possibility of building muscle and reducing body fat at her age, demonstrating her desire to challenge age-related fitness barriers.
She faced challenges due to a shoulder injury, which limited her ability to perform certain exercises but sought professional help at TSquared Lab to improve her shoulder function and movement patterns, leading to a successful recovery.
Luan learned about the significance of proper nutrition and calorie counting, realizing that healthy eating and eating for fat loss are different. This education empowered her to make better food choices aligned with her weight loss goals.

For Luan, the biggest challenge was understanding her nutrition. "At first, counting calories felt tedious," she admits. But CX helped her see the connection between her food choices and her goals. "What I learned was that eating healthy and eating for fat loss are two different things," she recalls. “For example, avocado is healthy, but it’s calorie-dense, so I had to be mindful of how much I was consuming.”
Through this process, Luan came to appreciate the importance of making food choices that aligned with her goals. “CX didn’t judge my food,” she notes. “He taught me that it’s not about ‘good’ or ‘bad’ foods, but about what’s right for my goals.”
Luan’s shoulder injury was one of the biggest hurdles she faced. "I tried everything—sports doctors, rehab, acupuncture, massage therapy—but nothing seemed to work," she says. After months of frustration, it was CX’s focus on proper movement patterns that finally helped her recover. "The way he guided me through movement was what eventually got my shoulder working again."
The pain of her shoulder injury had initially kept Luan from fully engaging in her workouts, but with CX’s support, she began to regain her confidence. "Once the pain subsided and my shoulder started moving properly, I felt empowered to push harder in the gym."

After months of hard work, Luan saw incredible changes in her body. "I felt stronger, my body fat started to decrease, and the scale finally began moving in the right direction," she says. Luan’s dedication to her workouts and newfound understanding of nutrition resulted in a leaner, stronger physique.
One of the most rewarding parts of the journey was the mental shift. "There was a sense of empowerment in knowing that even at 50, I could still build muscle, cut fat, and regain control over my body."
Luan’s transformation is a powerful reminder that age is not a limitation. "If you’re willing to put in the work and trust the process, it’s possible to reinvent your body at any age," she says. Her advice to others considering a similar journey? “Don’t wait until it’s too late. If you feel like you’ve lost control of your body, seek help from a professional who can guide you.”

Reps In Reserve (RIR) are the number of reps or repetitions you can accomplish before hitting a technical failure or before you miss a lift. And technical failure means that you cannot do another rep without proper form. Therefore, RIR is an effective tool to measure the intensity of your workout.
During an exercise set, time under tension (TUT) means the amount of time a muscle is put under strain in a particular exercise. With UT workouts, each phase of the workout is extended, which results in longer workout sets.
When it comes to workouts, you need to consider various factors to create a workout plan. For example, to become stronger and how your training impacts your body. That is you need to choose the right exercise, and lift the right weight, do the right number of reps, complete the set, obtain the proper rest, etc.
