A practicing lawyer for 16 years, 46-year-old Poh Lin’s life took an unexpected turn in 2018 when she underwent cancer surgery. “Then, four years later, in 2022, I had to undergo another surgery—this time a pulmonary valve heart surgery,” she explains. These back-to-back health challenges marked a turning point, compelling her to pause her legal career and prioritise recovery.
Reflecting on her journey, Poh Lin recalls, “After my cancer surgery, I started focusing more on
being active and getting healthy.” Her initial approach leaned heavily toward cardio exercises such
as yoga, spinning, jogging, and Pilates. However, after her heart surgery and entering
perimenopause, Poh Lin faced a new challenge. Her gynecologist recommended resistance and weight training to combat potential osteoporosis—a common concern for women post-menopause.
“I did a lot of research and realised this was something I had to pursue,” Poh Lin explains. Despite
initial hesitation from other gyms, TSquared Lab was there to guide her from the beginning.
Although Poh Lin was no stranger to fitness, resistance training was an entirely new realm. Her
trainer Renee, said, “She had no prior experience with resistance training. Given her history of
surgeries and a congenital heart condition, we had to tread carefully.” Poh Lin admits, “Initially,
I complained a lot because it was very difficult for me. But my trainer just ignored my unwarranted
complaints, which I appreciated.”
Poh Lin’s favorite exercise? “I like the prowler and the trap bar,” she says with a laugh. Despite
her early struggles, her commitment and her trainer’s careful guidance helped her find her rhythm.

I'm glad I chose this option. I mean, I didn't have a choice and I'm glad that I didn’t have a choice.”

Poh Lin soon discovered that fitness wasn’t just about exercise. “Food became an equally important
factor,” she says. Her journey included learning to make healthier choices and cutting back on sugar and
carb-heavy foods. “I didn’t realise how addicted I was to sugar and carbs until I started making
changes,” Poh Lin admits.
Coach Renee adds, “Initially, she struggled with cravings, but her determination to stick to her goals
was inspiring. Poh Lin went from needing daily sweets to being mindful of every meal.”
In just 7 to 8 weeks, Poh Lin achieved significant milestones. She proudly shares, “I lost about 11%
body fat, shed 5 kg of weight, and gained 3 kg of muscle mass.” These results weren’t just numbers—they
were a winning proof of her resilience and dedication.
Coach Renee adds, “These achievements were a result of consistent effort, careful planning, and
Poh Lin’s willingness to embrace challenges.”

Poh Lin’s journey wasn’t just about physical transformation; it was a mental and emotional
evolution as well. “The priority was my health,” she says. “After two surgeries in four years, I
realised how important it was to take care of my body.”
She adds, “Exercise has not only improved my physical health but also my quality of life. I feel
stronger, more energetic, and more confident about facing the years ahead.”
For Poh Lin, her journey is a message to others. “You may not have control over what life throws
at you, but you can decide how you respond,” she says. Through resilience, research, and the
right guidance, Poh Lin has rewritten her story—from a lawyer battling health setbacks to a
fitness advocate embracing strength and well-being.
Her transformation hasn’t just inspired her; Poh Lin has motivated her relatives to join
TSquared Lab, encouraging them to prioritize their health and well-being.
Her advice? “Start now, no matter where you are. Your health is worth it.”

Longevity is the pursuit of living a longer, healthier life by making conscious choices that promote overall well-being.
Losing weight can often feel like an uphill battle, even when you are putting in your best efforts. It’s frustrating, disheartening, demotivating, and sometimes downright confusing. You might be eating right, and exercising regularly, yet the scale refuses to budge.
Consistency in training forms the bedrock of any successful fitness journey. It’s the steady rhythm of effort and dedication that leads individuals toward their goals. Amongst the myriad of considerations in crafting an effective training regimen or finding the right personal trainer, one question often looms large: How many days a week should you train?
Mental well-being is a complicated subject. Researching the topic for a while will net you countless opinions, tactics, and ancient Chinese secrets for how to elevate your well-being and lead a rich, fulfilling life.
In a fast-paced world filled with demands and distractions, one cornerstone of well-being often takes a backseat – SLEEP.
Reps In Reserve (RIR) are the number of reps or repetitions you can accomplish before hitting a technical failure or before you miss a lift. And technical failure means that you cannot do another rep without proper form. Therefore, RIR is an effective tool to measure the intensity of your workout.
During an exercise set, time under tension (TUT) means the amount of time a muscle is put under strain in a particular exercise. With UT workouts, each phase of the workout is extended, which results in longer workout sets.
When it comes to workouts, you need to consider various factors to create a workout plan. For example, to become stronger and how your training impacts your body. That is you need to choose the right exercise, and lift the right weight, do the right number of reps, complete the set, obtain the proper rest, etc.
Have you ever found yourself stuck with your training? You’re hitting the gym consistently, putting in the effort, and doing your best, but you can’t seem to make progress toward your goals?
With the steadily growing popularity of courses, group classes, and online coaching, personal training might seem like a lost art, but that is far from the truth.
Like most people interested in building muscle, you’ve probably asked others what the best repetition range is for the goal.
