Can you share your name, age and profession?

Hi, I am Yun Song, I am 32 years old this year and I am a Health Care worker.

Over the course of training with Henry, how much weight and body fat have you lost?

Over the course of training with Henry, I have lost about 13 kgs weight and 11% body fat.

So, what made you sign up for TSquared Lab?

Personally, it was mainly because of the space and the facilities. I thought they had the equipment here which is top notch, and there is a lot of space and there’s enough equipment for everyone to use and the proximity to my workspace was also a consideration.

What were your main challenges before training with Coach Henry at TSquared Lab?

Before coming here I think I had problems adhering to a diet, I think that was the main thing holding me back. So, after I started training here, I got a better idea about how to make a diet more sustainable basically, and how to keep it engaging and especially for myself.

What was the main turning point for you in your fitness training?

The real answer is that I needed a space to train, because the other spaces were closed during the COVID and TSquared Lab offered a place to train outdoors and that’s why I decided to join.

Since the training here at TSquared Lab with Henry, what other improvements have you made, what other achievements have you made, what are you most proud of?

Definitely my diet. I have managed to track my diet very closely now; I am much more aware of what other food I am allowed to eat and not supposed to take. So, all this I feel contributes, especially if there is a goal you want to work towards. So, that is one of the biggest take-aways for me, when training here.

What were your physical achievements?

Personally, I feel like I am fitter, and I have lost a bit of weight and I think those are the most remarkable achievements for myself. (Ab and Legs definition)

Which body part are you most fond of now? What about it did you like?

I think probably back and legs yeah.I think back wise, it helped me improve my posture and that was one of the biggest take-away for me. Especially for my day job I have to sit in front of the computer for very long and my posture suffers as a result so getting better, muscle stability gives me a better posture as well. And I think it was a real challenge for us to bring out the definition of legs and we managed to do that. So, it was a really big milestone.

How has Coach Henry helped you in this journey as a coach?

I guess Coach Henry has been very helpful in prompting me as to what are the important things to turn off. Because I find, sometimes there is a lot of information online and, sometimes it is quite hard to discern like what’s the importance or value of the information you know, and Coach Henry is there to tell me like we should probably pay attention to these more than other irrelevant information.

How long have you been training by yourself and how is Henry as a Coach?

Before joining Henry, I was training by myself for about five years, after coming to TSquared Lab I thought I was better able to set aside the information I find online, and Coach Henry was also there to tell what was the important details that I need to pay attention to especially nutrition wise and how to execute certain more demanding exercises properly and safely.

Which body part are you most fond of now? What about it did you like?

I think probably back and legs yeah.I think back wise, it helped me improve my poster and that was one of the biggest take-away for me. What are your future plans with regards to fitness?

I am hoping to be able to continue to train here and hoping to increase more muscle mass in the future.

How have your friends reacted to your transformation, have they made any comments, are they happy for you?

Most of them have said I have lost some weight; I take that as a compliment.

What would you say to somebody who is thinking of joining TSquared Lab?

I think you should go ahead and try it out, even for a short period of 3 months or 6 months, because once you see some minor changes, you’ll be motivated to continue.

KEY TO YUN SONG’S SUCCESS

1. Yun Song educated himself:

Yun Song had access to multiple information online pertaining to diet. But he was not aware what was suitable for his body goals. And at times like that an expert intervention comes handy. Henry helped Yun Song differentiate between relevant and irrelevant information. And that differentiation taught Yun Song to understand about his diet and track it every day. He learnt ways to sustain a particular diet. At the same time, he learnt more about his ability and limitations and knew when to stop and push himself more for reps.

2. Yun Song was consistent:

Along with the professional guidance, Yun Song required discipline in his routine. Adhering to a diet was a barrier for him before he trained at TSquared Lab, when and how much to invest himself in training was a task to fulfil. Henry not only guided him through but also shared hacks which will keep Yun Song on track every day thereafter. Discipline and motivation to do better brought consistency to Yun Song’s training regime.

3. Yun Song had support from his Personal Trainer:

A structured approach builds in consistency. Henry was there to support Yun Song at every step. He paid attention not only to the nutrition part in Yun Song’s transformation journey, but also introduced the process of executing more demanding exercises safely. Henry communicated a lot with Yun Song to know more about what he was liking, what part of training he found challenging. Based on the feedback, he simplifies the workouts and makes it easy for Yun Song to execute.

4. Yun Song was dedicated:

During the lockdown, Yun Song kept a constant eye on a number of fitness facilities. While all the fitness facilities were shutting down during Pandemic, TSquared Lab with all the precautions, provided outdoor space to fitness enthusiasts, because we understand that a healthy body can fight any pandemic. Yun Song’s dedication brought him to TSquared Lab, he was dedicated to stay fit and healthy. What was lacking earlier was professional guidance, which later he got from TSquared Lab.

5. Yun Song knew the challenges:

Self-realisation is pivotal in the transformation journey. With Yun Song, he knew his shortcomings, and the same he communicated to his personal trainer. An open communication on the challenges faced, helped them design and work together on the training program which was result oriented.
